At this time of year, everyone around the world takes some time for remembrance. Whether it’s tomorrow as Remembrance Sunday events take place up and down the country, or on Wednesday, the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we will be thinking of those who fought and died in conflicts over the years. The world is a very different place at the moment due to the pandemic. There is a planned two minute silence across the country on Remembrance Sunday at 11am to make up for the fact that traditional events cannot be held. It’s a sombre time.
Darby Rimmer MND Foundation Co-Founder Chris Rimmer has as much reason for reflection at this time as anyone. Talking today, Chris said, “For me, the day is about respecting our current serving forces personnel as I know the sacrifices they make. More importantly, its about those who lost their lives. I will have special thoughts too for David Kenwright and John Smart.”
