On Sunday March 26, 150 walkers and a number of marshals took part in Roads 4 Rimmer, a fantastic team walking event around Merseyside sports stadia in support of the foundation. This walk was a tribute to our co-founder, Chris Rimmer, who passed away a year ago. It was an amazing experience for the walkers which included many members of the Rimmer and Darby families, along with Stephen’s great friend and youth team, teammate, Jay Spearing. A team of Chris’s RAF colleagues and friends made the trip up from RAF Wittering to be part of the day.
The final act of this is an auction of sports memorabilia including
- Replica England Lionesses shirt signed by Engand and Manchester City Women’s skipper Steph Houghton
- Matchworn Liverpool shirt from the Bradford City pre-season friendly in 2019 that marked the launch of the foundation – worn and signed by Ryan Kent
- Replica Lancashire Lightning cricket shirt signed by Liam Livingstone.
We have already auctioned off a signed Stephen Darby Liverpool shirt which was bought for £500. Check out the auction here. The auction ends on Sunday at 6pm.
So far, Roads 4 Rimmer has raised close to £38,000 for the Foundation.
