Over the weekend of July 9-11, Andy, Scott and Harry Bissett took on a 118 mile challenge over three days in support of the Foundation. Day 1 saw them walk from Huddersfield Town to Halifax Town stopping at many ground including an emotional visit to Leeds Rhinos where Stephen’s friend Rob Burrow played.
The second day saw a monsoon as the lads headed over the Pennines from Halifax to Greater Manchester. There was a magic moment for the boys at Salford City where they had a surprise visit from their families.
The final day was somewhat abridged. After 86 miles over the previous days, the boys had to reduce their mileage so they finished the walk with a 14 mile walk from St Helens RLFC to Anfield via Goodison Park.
Their challenge all along was to raise £10,000. As it stands, they have smashed that and have, so far, raised £11,250. There is a shirt auction to follow in a few weeks.
Massive thanks to Andy, Harry and Scott for all their efforts and to the walkers who joined them along the way.
