Over £47,000 raised

Darby Rimmer MND Foundation would like to say thank you and well done to all the 85 runners who ran and took part in this year’s Great North Run.

We know the time and sacrifices all the runners make to train for the run. We would like to thank everyone who made the effort who attended the Darby Rimmer tent in the charity village after the race. It was a special day with a fantastic atmosphere.

Over £47,000 was raised which is absolutely incredible.

Thank you to everyone who kindly and generously donated. Hopefully we see you all again next year!

Football stars Stephen and Steph Darby (née Houghton) join Rob and Lindsey to talk about what life is like living with MND.

The couples talk about how female sport is depicted and what their hopes and dreams are for their families in the future.

This episode was recorded in 2024 before Rob passed away on 2 June, four and a half years after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. It has been produced with the blessing of the Burrow family.

“We were lucky to call Rob our friend and he will always be our inspiration. As well, his wife Lindsay and their children, we are thinking of you and are always here for you!”
