So the Great North Run was a casualty of the pandemic but that didn’t deter the folk of South Hetton, County Durham. They decided to stage their own half marathon and use to raise funds for the Foundation. Not content with that, they decided to combine it with a ‘pairs’ cricket tournament.
This event, staged on Sunday August 13, was pulled together by Len Houghton, who completed the thirteen mile course alongside Rachel Houghton-Moody, Keith Barrass, David Shepherd, Louise Massie, Clifford Down, Graeme Hall and John Ridley.
In addition, the cricket competition took place which featured eight pairs, all paying an entry fee to play. This was won by Liam Houghton and Jamie Chappell.
At the end of the day, they had all contributed to raising in excess of £3500 for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation…..and a great time was had by all!
Well done guys!
