After a sustained campaign to persuade the government to invest £50 million in finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease, we finally had some great news this week. The request has been granted and this money will now be committed to research into the disease that affects 5000 people in the UK. This comes as a real boost for the foundation who fought alongside many other MND charities for this investment.
Stephen shared his thoughts on this excellent news. “We are absolutely delighted that the United2EndMND campaign was a success. The £50 million that the government have agreed to invest in MND research will give those battling MND hope that we will find a treatment and a cure for this disease. The hard work starts now and we know we have the best scientists in the world and hopefully with this funding they can make a real impact.
