On July 20th, 2024, Stewart’s Sports Tour will take place. This follows the model of the recent Roads for Rimmer event and will see teams of walkers undertaking a journey of nearly 18 miles around the sports arenas of Bristol. The walk will begin and end at the home of Bristol Rovers, one of the clubs that Marcus Stewart famously played for. Our aim is to recruit a minimum of 254 walkers, the number of career goals Marcus scored over his 20 year career. The walk is a team event with groups of between three and six able to enter. We are looking to target raising a minimum of £30,000 for the event but with the interest already shown, its possible we could raise considerably more for the Foundation.
Registration is now open and teams can join the event or just find out more information through the Redwood Events website here. We are hoping to be joined be joined on the day by a number of well known guest walkers with Jill Scott and Chris Kirkland already showing interest if diaries allow.
We are also looking to recruit 18 stage sponsors for the event. The route has been broken down into one mile stages and we are aiming to have each of those miles sponsored for a minimum donation of £150 each.. All stage sponsors will have their company name on the back of the event t-shirt and their logo displayed on the banner that the walkers will be photographed with throughout the day.
