On the weekend of August 29/30, Redwood Events are staging the Darbs Goes Home virtual and social distancing walk. This is the follow-on event from last year’s hugely successful Steps 4 Stephen fundraising walk. There are already over 200 walkers taking part all around the world taking part in this unique event and there is still time for others to be a part of this.
The walk is planned around a route between the six football clubs Stephen played for. The 290 mile journey starts at Swindon Town and ends at Anfield in Liverpool. Along the way, the route calls at the homes of Notts County, Bradford City, Rochdale and Bolton Wanderers. The full distance is broken down into sections largely of five miles each. Walkers signing up are allocated a virtual stage (or stages depending on how many miles they want to walk). That said, they can walk these stages anywhere in the world. There are already walkers taking part in England, Scotland, USA, Spain, Canada, Hong Kong, Portugal, Greece and Australia.
