Dr Ben Middlehurst, a Post-doctoral fellow working on the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation funded study entitled ‘From biology to quality of life in motor neuron disease’, has been awarded a Tenure Track Fellowship at the University of Liverpool.
This scheme is designed to foster future academics in a supportive environment with the aim of progression to Lecturer over a 5-year period and was made possible in part due to his work in MND research funded by the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
This new position will allow Ben to extend his current MND work and establish an ambitious programme of translational neuroscience to allow both a better understanding of mechanisms leading to neurodegeneration and translate that knowledge to clinical care and therapies.
